Ambulance Service/Fire & Rescue

The Town of Birnamwood contracts with BAES Inc. (Birnamwood Area Emergency Services), they proudly serve the Villages of Birnamwood, Aniwa, Mattoon and Eland and the Towns of Birnamwood, Hutchins and Aniwa in Shawano County. They also serve Town of Plover, Norrie and Harrison in Marathon County and the Town of Norwood and the Unincorporated Community of Phlox in Langlade County.

Three modern, fully equipped ambulances are available to transport patients with a fully equipped Fire and Rescue Department from their main station in Birnamwood and the second station in Mattoon where they have 1 Ambulance. A rescue all-season ATV is available for snowmobile or ATV accidents, as well as providing access to someone who may have been injured in the woods, a farm field, or other areas not easily reached by an ambulance of BAES Inc. A new Drone Service has been added to the Department. BAES. Inc. It provides highly skilled and personable patient care thanks to its team of devoted volunteers who are always there to answer your call!
